Films which are not recognized

Hi everybody,

one thing in advance, D-BOX is a wonderful feature for all cinemas and we are very happy that we can enjoy this feature on our home cinema. But, who does not know it, you are looking forward to your favorite film to enjoy the film with D-BOX and the film can not recognized.

I think a topic, where users could add problematical films, could help D-BOX to make D-BOX movie recognition better and also helps users, too when these films will work in future.

Following films could not recognized in our home cinema:
pirates of the caribbean 2 (original version Engl. language, HaptiSync Hub, Audio Line-In from AVR, rec. tolerance 10, 20, 30 sec., played 15 min.)
2012 (original version Engl. language, HaptiSync Hub, Audio Line-In from AVR, rec. tolerance 10, 20, 30 sec., played 15 min.)
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (original version Engl. language, HaptiSync Hub, Audio Line-In from AVR, rec. tolerance 10, 20, 30 sec., played 15 min.)

Have a good day at all

Sascha

I had a problem with The Island and Star Trek Generations. I reached out to support and they had me run through general troubleshooting stuff for days. I was pretty sure the files or something were just corrupted on my HEMC.

Long story short- the files for those titles were corrupted. They had to remote login, remove those code files, download them again… and then they worked.

Now I live in fear of what the next title to randomly not work will be. :grimacing:

Hi Sascha, i use the same configuration and all of your problematic movies work fine with me. Which channels do you feed into the hub? I use the 7.1 analog outputs of my avr and mix them down to stereo via a cheap analog mixer. You may try something similiar. Best regards, Andreas

Crimson Tide did not get recognized by my Haptisync when I tried it a few times. A ticket was raised with the support group by D-Box themselves apparently.

Hi,
There are a few movies recently that have issues:
Dune 1984 fault or glitch at 1 hour 19 mins and 50 seconds
Titanic code - Movie not recognised
Gemini man - Movie not recognised

Another one that didn’t work for me recently was Taken. It was never recognized by my Haptisync.

For my self, I have an issue with Gladiator (English) the film seem to be recognized but there is not movement that happen.

Dear Andreas,

do you speak German?

We used the Downmix Output from the StormAudo Receiver. I called our cinema installer, he said it is the best signal for D-Box because w´the complete Audio file will out out…

Do you use HaptiSync or HEMC? Our installer testes the films with HEMC and they work fine. Last weekend I tried these films again with our HaptiSync and the films will not recognized…

Another film which is not recognized is Wanted (original version Engl. language, HaptiSync Hub, Audio Line Downmix Outpot from StromAudio, rec. tolerance 10, 20, 30 sec., played 15 min.)

I think it would help a lot if there is a possibility to priorise older films or choose films by self or something like that. There must be also a difference between HEMC and HaptiSinc…

Nevertheless most movies are recognized and make a lot of fun :grinning:

regards,
Sascha

I did not see this topic and created one that was similar…here are the movies a friend and I found that also could not be recognized by hub (via microphone or integrated audio):
The Happening
Knowing
Crimson Tide
Transformers
Taking of Pelham 123
Zodiac

You may want to determine if those titles are failing generally- or just on your hemc or haptisync. The times I had trouble with specific titles, they were confirmed to be working on other systems, and it was a bad file on my system that was the cause.

I have confirmed they did not work on someone else’s haptic-hub system (beyond my own) - my friend has a completely separate system at another address. That is what I wrote in the above note. I am asking here to see if anyone else is having that same problem. (?) And I am looking for someone from D-Box to also say that this is an issue (or not) and how to fix it. I don’t like the idea of looking forward to watching a show in my seats that is listed in the library and then go through the process I did with the ones above and not having them work.

These 5 movies I checked with HaptiSync Hub and all movies can not recognized by HaptiSync Hub, I tried different Recognition Tolerance but the movies never work.

About The Happening I could not check it, no disc, no stream currently…

@Matt: If there are bad file on your system, what was the solution to currect these files? Only Reboot (Pressing power button to power off the device - Disconnect power cable - waiting 5 seconds - reconnect power cable - pressing the power button?

Thanks for checking Sascha - very much appreciated. Can someone from D-Box provide a response to this issue?

Hello everyone, I will relay the information to our motion coding team that these titles are not working properly and will update you as soon as we can.

The Happening
Knowing
Crimson Tide
Transformers
Taking of Pelham 123
Zodiac

Thanks to all for your feedback!

Dear Steve,

could you check if the following movies work?

  • Pirates of the caribbean 2
  • 2012
  • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
  • Wanted

Sascha,

I was also not able to get any of the movies you listed to work - I tried each movie at least three times and let them run for about 3-4 minutes before restarting. I think these should be added to the list to have D-Box Motion Team check them out and see about getting them fixed. A couple of these as I started them I wanted to actually continue watching them from my chair - hahahaha… But would rather they were working in the chair before watching them.

Another movie that wasn’t recognized by my haptisync: Elf.

Hey Everyone!

Just an update as we now see that this forum will become the main place where we get information regarding issues with motion codes. We are investigating what might be causing the issues and will get back to you as soon as we have an update. In the meantime, make sure to keep the titles with which you are having issues in mind!

Thank you all for your understanding and collaboration!

Another quick update to mention that we now better understand the source of the issue but it is taking some time to resolve 100%. We will keep you updated.

Keep sending us whatever title might not work for you so we can assess the situation as well as possible!
